DESCRIPTION OF THE MAGAZINE
Established in 1984, CRAFT ARTS INTERNATIONAL is a well established and independent journal devoted to the documentation of contemporary design, applied arts and craft. The magazine prides itself on its high quality reproduction and well edited texts. It is printed by Toppan Printing - Japan. Artists from around the world and their work in ceramics, glass, wood, fibre/textile, metalsmithing, jewellery, sculpture, painting, printmaking and mixed media are strongly represented in the magazine's editorial content as well as exhibition and book reviews. The magazine provides a lively forum for ideas, research and for the sheer enjoyment of contemporary art, design and craft practice.
The target audience for CRAFT ARTS INTERNATIONAL includes professional practicing artists/craftspeople, collectors, curators and museum professionals, art educationalists, art and educational libraries and institutions, students, designers, architects, writers and arts consultants.
At present, 8,500 copies of the magazine are distributed throughout Australia, New Zealand, Japan & Korea and 2,500 copies throughout the UK via newsagents, art and craft galleries and good bookstores. The magazine already has a substantial international subscription base mainly in countries such as USA, Canada, New Zealand, Asia and the UK, (total subscriber base: approx. 6,000). The magazine has a strong presence at SOFA Chicago each year and is very well received there.
