During the 31-years that Jenie Thomas and I have been at the helm of this magazine there has never been a dull moment and we have yet to miss a deadline. It has been a privilege to be entrusted with the publication of the works of leading artists and designer/makers from around the world. Though the task of commissioning, editing, compiling and producing each issue can be at times challenging, it’s always immensely satisfying and heaps of fun. Naturally, we wish this level of engagement to continue undiminished for years to come, but we must be realistic about securing the long-term prospects of this resilient and unique publication. The magazine already has an online presence and can be downloaded on most devices globally. Nevertheless, we realise that to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by broadband technology in the growth of readership and the promotion of studio craft, designer/making and the visual arts, a more vigorous level of interactivity is required through access to social media. Consequently, we have begun making some tentative enquiries and invite genuine expressions of interest from persons and publishers who may wish to acquire further details concerning the prospects of taking over the reins at Craft Arts International and becoming the magazine’s future custodians.
